Folk Art

BASICS AND BEYOND This class is offered to beginners or students who have some basic knowledge of Folk Art techniques. Complete a variety of projects and advance your skills.

So you can’t even draw stick figures? We promise you don’t have to! You’ll be surprised by what is achievable when you learn how! Start at the beginning or continue your journey through the amazing world of oil, watercolour or acrylic painting under the guidance of an experienced teacher.

Try something new. Create your first pastel masterpiece. Learn the basics of pastel drawing and you might just get hooked!

Create artworks on canvas, fabric, cards etc. with easy to use Inktense pencils. Make hand ‘painted’ colourfast bags, cushions and lots more.

Art & Craft Groups Classes


Catch up on your craft projects in the company of a friendly group. Share your skills, learn something new, or simply come along for a chat. Craft members are welcome to enter items for sale in the Trudewind Gallery. Choice of five sessions,

SESSIONS: Mondays, 9.30am-12.00pm
Monday evenings 6.00pm –10pm
Wednesdays 12.30- 3pm
Thursdays 12.30 -3pm
$5 per session OR save money and pay by the term.
TERM FEES: 1 session per week: $35.00 per term
2 sessions per week: $50.00 3 sessions per week: 65.00


Mixed media is a fancy way of saying “I’m using whatever art supplies I want!” Mixed media journals are all about layers: combining different types of paints and inks with layers created by other tools and materials. Similar to the way in which a hand-written diary might be formatted, entries in an art journal can be reflective, highly personal, and generally something you create for yourself.

Mount Mellick: A traditional Irish form of embroidery that uses predominantly knotted and padded stitches to create beautifully textured white work embroidery. Ideal for a beginner or the more skilled artist.. Materials supplied by tutor at small cost.
