Meet the Team

Our Management Committee

Trudewind management is represented by a broad cross section of members of the community. This ensures that a variety of opinions and ideas are brought to the organisation. Individuals with varying backgrounds and skills meet once a month to oversee the direction of the centre, monitor finances and deal with arising issues in a cohesive and constructive process. The members are highly committed to the centre and its over-arching philosophy of inclusion and acceptance.

Leisha Deery

Chairperson

Leisha has held the position of Chairperson for six years. Leisha’s professional background is in childcare and later, nursing. With four children, a busy household and as a business owner, Leisha also manages to dedicate valuable time to the centre on a regular basis and has a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of the administration and financial accountability of the organisation.

Heather Williams

Secretary

After attending an Art Group at the centre for many years and also helping as a volunteer with annual art exhibitions. Enjoying retirement now, Heather has a business background. Heather joined the Committee in 2015. She was elected as Secretary in 2016. Heather’s secretarial skills ensure she is a valued and integral member of the team. Heather is a keen artist and has sold several of her works through the Gallery

Lyn Plant

Treasurer

Lyn has attended Trudewind for many years both as a committee member and later as Treasurer. Lyn keeps excellent control over the financial management of the centre. She is dedicated to ensuring all financial accountability is met in a timely fashion, while keeping costs to our community as affordable as possible so our programs are inclusive and accessible.

Robyn Patterson-Eliott

Robyn held the position of Coordinator for several years at Trudewind in the 1990’s. Now employed here as Art tutor, Robyn brings her extensive knowledge of both the management of a community based organisation and also as a qualified art tutor.

Gwen has been attending Craft Groups at Trudewind for many years. She joined the committee in 2012, then was elected as Assistant Treasurer in 2017. With a background in business, Gwen makes a valuable contribution to the committee. Gwen also makes many items for the Gallery and donates the proceeds of sales to Trudewind.

Committee Member

Greg a local business owner, brings vision, marketing skills and his knowledge of the Wodonga Business community. Greg’s assistance with promotion and technical issues has been invaluable over sever years on our committee.

Sue Martin

Committee Member

A relative newcomer to the committee and is very committed to the Trudewind philosophy. She is highly respected for the contribution she makes to general issues arising at committee meetings and contribution to our craft gallery.

Scott McDowell

Committee Member

Scott works at an Albury school in grounds maintenance. He makes an active contribution to the committee and also helps out with maintenance and various other tasks at Trudewind and has been on our committee since 2106

Committee Member

Wendy joined the committee in 2016 with an extensive background in legal and the community, therefore brings another angle to the management of Trudewind. A keen artist and a long time attendee at Art groups and classes.

Our Staff

Sue Lees

Chairperson

Sue was instrumental in the organisation’s inception as an autonomous incorporation in the early 90’s and worked here for five years before leaving to move interstate with her family.   Sue has extensive experience and commitment, also holding the position of Coordinator at Bandiana Neighbourhood House for ten years prior to returning to Trudewind as Coordinator in 2010. Sue has a strong belief in the importance of welcoming and accepting everyone who comes to Trudewind, a philosophy which is shared by all. The Coordinator is employed by the Committee for 20 hours a week, to attend to the day to day business of the centre.

Lyn Plant

Bookkeeper

In edition to Lyn’s commitment as our Treasurer, Lyn is employed by the Coordinator as the centre’s Bookkeeper and has a large role in applying for Grants. Lyn also assist with fundraising and regularly attends Craft Groups each week and she and her husband Greg, have a huge involvement in the maintenance of the Community Garden.

Nicki Cole

Administration Assistant

Nicki’s first visit to Trudewind was as a student in a computer class five years ago.  She became committed to the ethos of the organisation and became a volunteer soon afterwards.  When the opportunity to employ Nicki arose, it was taken up with enthusiasm by all.  Nicki has since become a Computer tutor, having attained her Cert 4 in Training and Assessment several years ago and she continues to enjoy success as a tutor and also administration assistant.

Sue Mason

Volunteer

Sue was initially the chairperson in 1991 and continued that role for 3 years, following which she took on the role of treasurer until 2007. Sue then took on the role of coordinator from 2007 to 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed her role at the center. Sue then followed her passion and started studying her Bachelor of Fine Arts. She has since been actively volunteering at Trudewind assisting Sue Lees in the office and actively helping in the garden and Art Gallery.

Linda Bouse

Linda qualifies as Volunteer Extraordinaire! Linda first visited the centre and enrolled for a computer class in 2013 and soon afterwards we welcomed her as a volunteer.  Linda has worked 15 hours a week since then, barely missing a day!  She is a friendly familiar face for everyone who attends and she takes care of a variety of administrative, reception and other tasks, including meeting and greeting newcomers and introducing them to the centre.
